love the journal name <3

Hermione owned a small cottage, that was located close to a small bookstore that she owned. The two locations were joined by a weaving path through a large garden. It had taken nearly all of her savings to purchase the two locations. But they were hers. And it made her incredibly happy to have her solitude.

She had not been expecting an owl today. Both Harry and Ron were usually too busy in their new Auror jobs to send her messages. Occasionally she would receive one from Ginny. But the owl that landed at her window was obviously not Ginny's.

Hermione took the letter, opened it and read it. Then read it again. Then a third time. She stared at the owl, as if she could question the creature if the message was sincere, or some joke. If it was a joke, it would be in poor taste.

So she decided to respond to the message as if it was sent with honest purpose. And hope that her trust was not given poorly. Again.

Draco

I must admit that I have some doubts that it is you, who has written me. To read that you had considered me your intellectual superior is a little surprising.

Your project sounds quite amazing. I have no doubt in my mind that your artifact will in deed achieve what you desire from it. I would be honored to take a look at it, and see what steps need to be taken to finalize the last steps.

A neutral location would be best. I am not quite ready to return to Malfoy Manor. And I see no need for a bodyguard. You have faced my wrath before, and I trust you know better than trying my patience again.

How about the Hog's Head in Hogsmeade? If that meets your approval, please let me know a time that best suits your dedication to your project.

Yours,
Hermione Jean Granger

Luring the owl to her with a treat, she attached the letter onto its leg, and let it return to its master with her reply.
