Draco was making good use of his to render wands and sometimes wand-hands non-functional and following up with a Catalepsy spell other than on the giant; functionally it was little different from Stupefy other than that it slowed heart rate and breathing, but the counter-spell was much less well known and even with it cast the victim would still be groggy for half a minute. And blinded and deafened it wasn't as if they were fighting back, which was why Draco was moving fast.
Possibly he didn't have to destroy their wands but it was thirteen against two and it was a studied insult to destroy a wand while a wizard was holding it even if it would be terrible manners to destroy a dropped wand or a wand of a helpless foe. Indeed the sixth was just starting to cast a healing spell on himself when Draco cut his wand and cursed him.
"There should be seven more Death Eaters in the houses if this is a full coven." Draco's shout would be heard by Hermione but no one else had functional ears.
